I just thought of something I used to use when I was a kid... It was a sort of toy called a spirograph. You'd put your pen in and move it around to make repeated shapes... I found a java version online which is sort of interesting - it shows the type of shape you came up with... Weird - I didn't even remember this thing existing until a minute ago. Maybe I'll go buy one.
