Can someone help me figure this out? There was a toy when I was a kid - blocks sort of like legos - they were all red bricks with one or two hump thingys and there were white windows. I don't know what they were called but that's what I want my house to look like someday... I can't find anything about them. Hmmm....

I was clearing out papers in one of our kitchen drawers this weekend and I noticed a "manual" for an old telephone we have.

It says:

OPERATION

Placing a phone call

1. Select the desired dialing mode with the Tone/Pulse switch.
2. Lift the handset from the handset cradle.
3. Listen for dial tone.
4. Press the dialing buttons for the telephone number you want.
5. When the called party answers the telephone, speak into the mouthpiece of the handset.
6. Hang up the handset after completion of your conversation.

I'm so glad I had these instructions! And I think of the poor guy (or girl) who had the job of putting together this manual.

So our car had to be fixed yesterday - turned out it cost over $600 for a sensor or something. I was thinking last night it would be funny to, throughout your day, make up expressions that don't make any sense. Like when the guy showed me the bill, I could have said "Wow, that chihuahua won't bark!"

Sara's idea, "You don't have to tell me a toilet seat's round!"

Or "The moon won't be split in half, that's for sure"

Just make them up like this and people could spend half the day trying to figure out what you were talking about.

Happy Friday!

I think my three favourite words are "Out For Delivery"... When you order something by mail order and you check the tracking number on the courier's site, it'll tell you where the package is. Then, on the day you'll receive it, the scan line will say "out for delivery" Yay!

Yesterday, it had been so warm for so long that we could see the grass pretty well everywhere - most of the snow was gone (completely gone in a lot of areas). Today, there's a storm - we can hardly see anything outside. It's cool.

I love lasagna (Blog Word of the Day) - when we were kids, we used to order lasagna on fridays because a pizza place had buy one get one free that day... so the three of us would order two and get two free - we'd have one each and we must have split the fourth (can't remember)... Mmmm!

So I saw something on a TV music channel (which I watch a lot of...) the other day. It was a "mini marathon" of a show.

Doesn't the word "marathon" imply it's not mini... a mini marathon would just be a few episodes in a row.

Also, yesterday, I saw on the TV Guide channel that a show called "The New This Old House Hour" is playing... Wouldn't it just be "this house hour?"

Hmmmm...

Years ago, we got calls all of the time to sell carpet cleaning, newspapers, etc.

I got a call one day from a newspaper. Unfortunately, my answer of "we're all students, we have no money" didn't work. He said "well, if there's 4 people splitting it, it's just [whatever the amount] each per week."

I said "I'm not interested." He said "may I ask why?"

I said "I don't read the news, it's too depressing"

He had a last effort to try to sell me, saying "but it's only [whatever amount] a week."

I told him "No thanks, I can think of a lot of cheaper ways to get depressed."

He started laughing and said it was the best answer he heard.

It was funny.

Later, my mom tried it and the woman who was calling apparently was crabby and didn't laugh.

Ok this is weird... Sara was just looking out the window and said something like "Wow, it's windy today" and just at the same time, I looked at my screen where I had just loaded funwithblogs.com and I found out that "windy" is the Blog Word of the Day. Weird timing. It's snowing too... I like snow!

It snowed (Blog Word of the Day) last night... This morning, a snowmobile drove down our street...

So I saw a nerd rating thing on dawni's site. I took the quiz and here are my results...

|Overall, you scored as follows:
|
|91% scored higher,
|1% scored the same, and
|8% scored lower.
|
|What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:
|
|Definitely not nerdy, you are probably cool.

I am nerdier than 8% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

Oh... Sara mentioned that I forgot the most important part in my posting about the Tiffany CD below... it was only a dollar at the dollar store (she left the price tag on to make me think she spent a lot of money... turns out it was a dollar well spent!)

I figured out how to eliminate road rage forever. I am pretty relaxed when I drive (I learned a lot from Jason) but some people are always in a rush and get angry. This is how you fix it... All car horns should play "La coucaracha" (like some old cars). Think about it - someone cuts you off and you beep at them - it plays la coucaracha... the guy in the car that cut you off laughs and waves that he's sorry and you, hearing la coucaracha, laugh it off as well. Think of how happy people would be!

I love pizza.

That is all.

Do you know how you can tell you had a good Christmas? Heartburn. I don't usually have heartburn lately but at Christmas time, I had heartburn 3 out of the 4 days that followed. Mmmm!

We had a green Christmas. I always say I wouldn'tlike to live somewhere with no snow because I love snow on Christmas but there was none at all. Then, the next day, there was a big storm and plenty of snow. Now, most of it melted again.

Finally, I'm back at work... with thousands of e-mails to go through from the past week, it's been a busy day.

We hada great Christmas and new year. Actually, I got the most surprising Christmas present... I opened what I was pretty sure was a CD and I look and it's by Tiffany. Who knew she had done a CD in 2000. The price tag said $13.98 or something like that... I was like - wow, that's a lot of money for a joke. Sara and my sister were laughing. They bought it as a joke since I used to LOVE Tiffany... I had a big crush on her and I liked her music a lot when I was a teenager. Well, I put the CD in to listen to what it sounds like and I found out that... IT WAS REALLY GOOD! The joke's on them, I guess since it's a great CD - I listened to it a bunch of times at Christmas time and it was like one of my best gifts!

It was cool.
