So my song House Move made it to number 76 on the SoundClick house chart today... that's cool.
Also, I think I should keep paper and a pen nearby throughout the day because I keep thinking of things I want to post here and by the time I post I forgot what I had planned... Oh well, pretend there's something really funny and interesting posted here.

Wow. One of the songs on my SoundClick page has been moving up the charts... I noticed yesterday that my song House Move was #121 in the house charts. Today, it's #91... (another song, Call Me is number 228 under Trance - and there are LOTS of songs in that category)...
Hooray for number 91!

April Fools Day is coming up (well, in just over 5 months)... a few years ago, I posted something online that I was planning to do a million pranks for April Fools Day and I would list it on my site as I do the pranks. The whole thing, actually, was a prank in itself. When they went to the Web site, it said "April Fools".
Every year when I was a kid, I'd call my grandmother and tell her something like there's a big parade in front of her building with elephants and other animals. I don't know if she really got up but she said she did and went to look, then, I'd say "April Fools" and be laughing.
Today, I still call her every year, more as a joke than anything else... she's 93 and still playing along - though last year, I think I really got her because I told her to turn her tv to a channel I decided on - I told her that her building was on the news. I saisd there was something about a fish supper (in french April Fools is "Poisson d'avril"... basically April Fish.
I keep thinking that it would be funny to do a major one some year, and actually plan a parade on her street on that day... have the whole neighbo(u)rhood involved in a major April Fools prank. That would be so much fun... and she definitely wouldn't expect it!

A movie I did the music for played in a film festival earlier this month. I noticed this post on someone's blog.
Cool. You can see the first 2 minutes of the film (along with my music and credit) at the film's site.

I love television - and though some shows lately are getting annoying, in general, I love reality shows. I was watching TV last night and it looked like there was a new show coming soon... it was called Tiny House and it was about this couple that had to live in a really small house for a while - everything was small, the bed, the celinings were low, it looked like it would be SO funny! But then it turns out it's just an ad for an insurance company (made to look like a promo for a reality show).
Oh well, it was a good idea for a show.

I must be really tired. I just looked at my clock on the wall and I thought the seconds were going backwards...

Travelling is fun but tiring. I love road trips - but I think this time we may have pushed ourselves too much - we took a trip which takes about 14 hours each way. We left Friday afternoon and got back Monday night at after 3 a.m. (well, Tuesday morning I guess). And there, we were driving almost constantly. We are exhausted but it was fun. We brought big 50-pound bags of potatoes as gifts for a couple of people.

I saw this description of a link on Grouchoo!: "J&E Grocery closes - The story of the closing of the store with the greatest ads ever, narrated by a mushmouthed dude hawking hamhocks and neckbones! Oh, the humanity!"
The article they link to doesn't work anymore but the description pretty well says it all. I guess I'm not alone to love those ads.

Speaking of ads... there's a really funny radio campaign here for a gas station chain. They have a contest once a year where you can win prizes by collecting city names. You can also win instand prizes like chocolate bars or whatever. On the radio ads, the announcer calls and and has a really perky, excited voice. The guy who answers the phone is really low key and relaxed acts sort of surprised.
The conversation below isn't the exact words but it goes something like:
"I heard you won something lately, what was it?"
"Cheezies."
"Wow, that's great, you must have been so happy."
"I guess"
"Who was the first person you told?"
"Girlfriend"
"Wow. She must have been SO happy for you!"
"I guess"
"Now, where were you when you found out you won?"
"Right at the counter"
"Wow, the staff there... they must have been so happy"
"I guess"
Then it goes on. That started last year, I think. This year, they did the campaign again, but they "called" the same people - they asked how their life changed since they won, etc.
It was funny!!!!! I never heard as many as I would have liked but they were comedy!

I'm trying to remember the name of a store that had ads on tv when I was a kid. It was from the Rochester, NY station I think. The announcer would be all excited, and then, you'd hear in a relaxed voice "And this week's specials are:" and the guy from the store would have whatever specials "ground beef, one ninety nine a pound", etc. - I think I've got it!!! They'd end... "at J&E Grocery, 99 Reynolds Street" or something like that. One of my friends went to Rochester years ago and had looked for it - I don't think he had found it.
I loved those ads (though I was too far to go take advantage of the sales... also, I was probably 8 years old so I didn't have a big meat budget).
Ahhh... good old J&E Grocery (or whatever they were called).

We are having lobster tonight. With potato salad. 2 lobsters each. Mmm! I love living near the ocean.
I had something good to post last night. But I forgot now.

There's a game I used to play when I was a kid... Two people would look at each other in the eyes and see who would be able to go on the longest without laughing.
I think I might be the worst player at that game because I always end up laughing after just a few seconds. I guess it means I'm a happy guy.

Well, I made the charts on SoundClick. It turns out that my song Running Away is number 98 in the House charts... and Call Me, my favo(u)rite song is number 320 in the Trance charts... It's cool - I think they're my 2 best songs so I'm glad they're both on the charts.
